Organised by the Delhi chapter of the Indian Association for Air Pollution Control (IAAPC), the conference, to be held at Indian National Science Auditorium (INSA), will formulate short term as well as long term policy and solutions to improve Delhi's air quality, a statement here said.

"Delhi has become one of the most polluted cities in the world and is the most polluted city in India. It is having serious effect on the health of the citizens of Delhi," said Shyam Gupta, secretary of IAAPC's Delhi Chapter.

The environment ministry, Delhi government, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and other departments have also expressed concerns and given their views but no concrete and practical action plan has been prepared to improve air quality in Delhi, added Gupta.

At the end of the conclave, IAAPC proposes to prepare 'Practical Action Plan' that will be submitted to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as well as Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar.

There will be constant dialogue with them and we will offer help of this learned Indian Scientific Community to tackle this issue, said Gupta.
