Faridabad has emerged as the "Fastest Mover" among cities with a population of above one million each in the Swachh Survekshan - 2017 announced by Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu.

"Faridabad, the largest city in Haryana, has displayed tremendous growth in a span of one year to become India's fastest moving city," an official statement said.

Faridabad also improved its rank from 379 in 2014 to 88 this year.

"Faridabad has ranked in the top 25 per cent among 434 cities in Swachh Survekshan - 2007, in contrast to the 2016 ranking when it was in the bottom one third," the statement said.

The southern city of Tirupati was ranked cleanest in medium cities category while Chhattisgarh's Ambikapur topped among the small cities group.

Madhya Pradesh's Rewa emerged as the "Fastest Mover" in the medium cities category, while Khargone moved the fastest by significantly improving it's rank this year over that of the 2014 Survey in the small cities category.
