Barcelona bid farewell to the Spanish football club's former President Agusti Montal who passed away a day earlier at 82 years of age.
The funeral, held at the Sant Vicenç de Sarria Church, was attended by former Barcelona presidents Raimon Carrasco, Josep Lluis Nuñez, Joan Gaspart, Enric Reyna, Joan Laporta and Sandro Rosell, as well as current President Josep Maria Bartomeu, along with other Barcelona executives, reports Efe.
RCD Espanyol was represented at the ceremony by its CEO, Ramon Robert.
During his presidency, Montal worked to regain the Catalan identity of Barça in the last years of the Franco dictatorship (1939-1975).
He was also responsible for the signing of Johan Cruyff, one of the greatest soccer legends of all time and whose death occurred almost one year ago.
