Feyenoord Rotterdam lost the opportunity to claim the Dutch football league title in the penultimate round after losing against Excelsior 0-3 here on Sunday.
Feyenoord could have claimed the title on Sunday if they had defeated Excelsior. After this setback, the winner of the league will be decided in the last round, as second-placed Ajax thrashed Go Ahead Eagles 4-0, reports Efe.
Excelsior claimed an unexpected victory over the Eredivisie leaders and avoided the relegation zone dilemma.
Feyenoord are still leading the table with 79 points, one point ahead of Ajax, who will visit Willem II on May 14, while Feyenoord will host Heracles on the same day.
