Youth Congress leaders Friday assured Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit of winning the 28 constituencies the party lost in 2008 assembly election if youth leaders are fielded in the coming polls.

Delhi Youth Congress leader Amit Malik requested the three time chief minister to consider the names of young leaders for a party ticket.

The capital is set to go to polls Dec 4 and political campaigning by the two arch rivals - BJP and Congress - is gaining momentum.

In 2008, Congress won 43 seats.

Dikshit addressed a crowd of over 1,000 workers of youth unit at Talkatora Stadium.

"You are our soldiers and we are behind you. We want you to lead. Besides, making us win assembly elections, we have to make sure that Rahul Gandhi becomes the prime minister," Dikshit said.
