The world governing body of football FIFA on Monday it was keeping a close eye on the diplomatic row involving Qatar, which will host the 2022 World Cup.
Earlier, the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, Libya and the Maldives severed diplomatic relations with Qatar. Some countries snapped air links with Qatar, reports Tass news agency.
"FIFA is in regular contact with the Qatar 2022 Local Organising Committee and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy handling matters relating to the 2022 FIFA World Cup," FIFA spokesperson said.
Qatar in 2010 won the right to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
