In a major relief to Madhya Pradesh Governor Ramnaresh Yadav, the state high court on Tuesday quashed the first information report (FIR) filed against him in connection with the state services recruitment scam.

Mahendra Pateria, governor's lawyer, told media that a two-judge bench of Chief Justice Ajay Manikrao Khanwilkar and Justice Rohit Arya ordered quashing of the FIR filed by the Special Task force against Ramnaresh Yadav in what is popularly called Vyapam scam.
On April 17, 2015, the high court put on hold the FIR, and on Tuesday quashed it, Pateria said.
The governor had moved the high court against the FIR. Citing Article 361(2) and (3), the plea claimed that criminal proceedings against governor could not be initiated during his term in office.
The FIR against Governor Yadav was filed in connection with irregularities in recruitment by Madhya Pradesh government of forest guards.
