A fire broke out on Tuesday at the Government Women's Hospital in Ghaziabad, but was brought under control soon, officials said.
Fire department officer A.K. Sharma said the cause of the blaze -- which occurred around noon -- was an electrical short-circuiting in the Postpartum (post childbirth) Centre, and stabilizers and a submersible pump panel were burnt.
The fire was brought under control within an hour with two fire tenders.
The hospital said it suffered a loss of around Rs.50,000.
