Five people were killed and 131 others affected in a village fire in southwest China's Guizhou province Sunday, authorities said.
A residential house caught fire around 4:50 a.m. in Xishan town of Congjiang county, leaving five dead, Xinhua quoted the county government as saying in a statement.
Initial investigation showed that the fire damaged 21 houses and also affected 131 people from 26 households.
Relief materials including rice and quilts have been delivered to the victims.
Investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
