At least five people were killed and eight critically injured in a road accident in Kenya, police said Saturday.
The accident occurred Friday night when a minibus plunged into Athi river, 35 km from Nairobi, Xinhua reported citing Machakos Police County Commander Gideon Amalla as saying.
Initial investigations revealed the 14-seater minibus was overtaking several vehicles and later tried to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming truck and landed into the ditch, making it difficult to rescue those trapped.
