At least five people were killed and many houses damaged in landslides in Indonesia's North Sumatra Saturday, an official said here.
Heavy downpour caused the landslides in Sibio Bio village of Tapanuli Tengah district, damaging five houses located on the slope of a hill, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of the national disaster management agency, told Xinhua over phone.
"Rescuers have recovered 4 bodies, but they are still searching for the body of a four-month-old baby along a river," the spokesman said.
The baby fell into a river when the landslides occurred and was swept away by the current, the official said.
