At least five people were killed when a country boast carrying more than a dozen passengers capsized Friday in a river in Odisha's coastal Jagatsinghpur district, police said.
The boat capsized in Biluakhai river near Nachhipur village, about 130 km from Bhubaneswar when the people were returning home after attending a fire ritual at a temple located on the other side of the river.
"Five people have died. It was not clear how many passengers were aboard when the accident took place," Jagatsinghpur's Superintendent of Police Satyabrata Bhoi told IANS.
