Troops from 17 foreign countries who participated in China's Victory Day parade on September 3, have left Beijing.

Troops from Tajikistan and Kyrghyzstan were among the last to set off from Beijing Capital International Airport, a People's Liberation Army (PLA) statement said.

Russian soldiers were the first to leave soon after the parade, the Global Times reported.

Held to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, this was the first military parade in China featuring foreign troops.

Belarus, Cuba, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrghyzstan, Mexico, Mongolia, Pakistan, Serbia, Tajikistan and Russia each sent columns of about 75 soldiers.

Delegations from Afghanistan, Cambodia, Fiji, Vanuatu and Venezuela also marched in the parade.
