A foreign woman journalist was killed In Afghanistan and another was injured after being fired at by an Afghan police officer Friday.
"One Afghan National Police (ANP) officer fired at two female foreign journalists in Tanai district of Khost province at around 11.45 a.m., killing one on the spot and injuring the other," a security official told Xinhua.
The victims working for the Associated Press (AP) were covering the transportation of election material to the district, and the attack took place inside the district governor's office building, the official added.
The attacker was captured following the shooting and an investigation has been launched into the incident, the source said.
The incident came ahead of the presidential and provincial councils elections in this South Asian nation Saturday.
