Former Arsenal midfielder Tomá Rosický on Wednesday announced his retirement from football at the age of 37.
The Czech made 170 appearances for Arsenal before moving to his boyhood club Sparta Prague in 2016. He also appeared in 149 fixtures for German football giants Borussia Dortmund.
"After careful consideration, I have realised I am no longer able to fully prepare my body for what the professional football requires," the midfielder said in a statement.
"I would like to thank Sparta for raising me, for being the first step in my career in big clubs, and for allowing me to say goodbye at the place I love the most," Rosický added.
Rosický lifted the FA Cup twice with Arsenal and Bundesliga once with Borussia Dortmund. He was also awarded the Czech Footballer of the Year in 2001, 2002 and 2006.
