Former test cricketer Yograj Singh was arrested Monday in Panchkula, adjoining Chandigarh, for being involved in an altercation there.
He was later given bail by a local court on health grounds.
Yograj, father of cricketer Yuvraj Singh, was arrested along with a relative Bhupinder Singh after a brawl with a former Chandigarh police officer in Panchkula's Sector 2 over parking of cars.
On the complaint of Yograj's relatives, including two women, a counter case was registered against retired deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Asanand and his two sons. They were also arrested after the complainants alleged that they were assaulted by the former DSP and his sons.
