Kiev, Oct 20 (IANS/EFE) At least four civilians were killed and nine others wounded by artillery fire directed at the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, the mayor's office said Sunday.
"As a result of the military actions of Oct 18, four civilians were killed and another nine were severely wounded in Donetsk by shell fragments," said a statement issued by the local government.
The statement added that the artillery fire hit the city early Sunday and destroyed numerous buildings.
"Starting at 1.40 p.m. Friday and going up to 3 a.m. Saturday, there were bombardments directed at four districts -- Petrovski, Kirovski, Kuybishevski and Kievski," the statement said.
