A robbery of Rs.18 lakh and the murder of an accountant of a firm here has been solved following the arrest of four robbers, police said Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed the robbers from Tronica City area on the Delhi-Saharanpur road, Ghaziabad Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Yadav said.
The robbers - Vishal alias Dharam Pal, a resident of Partapur in Meerut, Kapil, a resident of Sardhana in Meerut, Shiva alias Sanjay, also a resident of Sardhana and Kamal, a resident of Hapur - confessed to their crime.
Kamal was working as a peon in the same consumer durables distribution firm in which the slain accountant was employed.
The crime had taken place June 30.
Police also recovered two motorcycles, one used while committing the crime and the other bought with the looted money.
A .32 bore pistol with four cartridges, two locally-made pistols of .315 bore with five cartridges and Rs.8.6 lakh of the Rs.18 lakh, were recovered from them, police said.
