Tension prevailed at a mosque in Himachal Pradesh village on Tuesday when two groups of a community clashed during Eid festivities, the state police said.
The clash occurred at the mosque at Misarwala, located some 25 km from Nahan town in Sirmaur district, when one group objected to the Eid prayers being conducted by a particular priest, a police official told IANS.
The official said the other group was insisting that the priest shortlisted by it should conduct the prayers. This led to the clash among the two groups.
"Four people were injured and a few vehicles parked near the mosque were damaged by the protesters," he added.
At the time of incident, over 3,000 people had gathered in the mosque.
The security in the area has been heightened and no arrest has been made yet.
