Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has said that 4.13 million full jobs have been created since the beginning of her administration in January 2011.

In her weekly radio show "Breakfast with the President", Rousseff said Monday the achievement was much more significant against the backdrop of the global economic woes, which had seen many developed countries struggling with rising unemployment.

She said more than half a million jobs were created in the construction sector, while healthcare and education made a contribution of 437,000, reported Xinhua.

More jobs and better pay were essential to the reduction of inequality in the country, said the president, stressing the importance of formal labour contracts, the rise in the minimum wage and other policies aimed at improving Brazilians' standard of living.
