The RPF Wednesday busted a gold smuggling racket and arrested four people, including two women, from the Kamrup Express at Nagaland's Dimapur railway station.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials with the help of Government Railway Police also seized 26 gold biscuits, weighing 4.33 kg and valued about Rs.1.20 crore, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) officials said.
The four people hailing from Manipur had concealed the biscuits in the inner wear and jeans of the women associates.
"They are part of an inter-state gang of gold smugglers," a statement issued by NF Railways chief spokesperson Sugato Lahiri said.
Dimapur is about 270 km from here. Customs authorities were also informed, the statement added.
