Four participants from Maharashtra have been selected for the Indian contingent for the forthcoming 17th Asia Junior Judo Championship.
The competition will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Kochi from September 7-11, according to a release.
The tournament is being organised jointly by Judo Federation of India, Judo Union of Asia and Kerala Judo Association.
Shravan Shegde of Aurangabad and Nagpur's Shubhangi Raut have been selected for the Junior Championship category. Snehal Khaware and Rucha Dhopeshwar of Pune have been selected for the Cadet Championship category.
Datta Aphale, international referee and general secretary of the Maharashtra Judo Association, has been appointed referee for the tournament.
Japan, South Korea, China and Taipei are among the Asian countries that will be participating in the tournament.

It will the first time the tournament will be held in India after 1996, when it was hosted by New Delhi.
