The Louvre Museum will start offering free evening visits on a monthly basis in 2019, a spokesperson for the prestigious art museum said on Thursday.
The popular art museum in the heart of the French capital would offer visits on the first Saturday of every month from 6 to 9.45 p.m. starting January 5 in a bid to "democratize" the art gallery, Efe news reported citing the art museum's spokesperson.
The Richelieu Wing, which features French sculptures, Flemish paintings and other historic artworks would only be accessible via reservations.
According to the spokesperson, the Louvre wanted to offer residents of the Paris area, particularly young people, the opportunity to visit the museum in a way that suited their needs.
