German football club Eintracht Frankfurt has signed Guillermo Varela on loan for a season from Manchester United.
The 23-year-old defender will strengthen the "Eagles" defence after putting pen to paper on a loan deal until June 2017, both clubs announced on Saturday, reports Xinhua.
"Guillermo Varela is a very young and talented player who has proven his qualities at two top clubs," Frankfurt's sporting director Bruno Huebner said. "We are convinced that he will revive the competition within the team."
Frankfurt's Uruguayan new arrival, who received the jersey number 3, plays since 2013 for Manchester United. However, he has been loaned to other clubs for most of the time.
"I look forward to Frankfurt, especially to the team and the stadium," Varela told the club' s official homepage.
