French President Francios Hollande began three-day official visit to Egypt on Sunday to boost ties with the Middle East country.

"The visit reflects a mutual desire to further boost firm ties to a more distinguished level," Xinhua quoted the presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef as saying.

The visit will also provide an opportunity to promote cooperation with France in all fields, particularly in economy.

"After a joint conference, a number of agreements will be signed," Youssef said.

Hollande is on a three-nation tour in the Middle East -- Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt.
