The Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) has opened two classroom centres -- one in Jammu and the other in Srinagar -- to make premium executive management education accessible to working executives of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a press release issued here Monday, the institute said the Executive Post Graduate Programmes (EPGP) offered at the centres in Jammu and Kashmir would provide an opportunity to enhance managerial and leadership skills to local people who are forced to move to metropolitan cities in pursuit of higher education.

Professor Debashis Chatterjee, director of IIM-K, said the institute stands by its commitment to the nation to embrace marginalised sections of the country's youth.

"Our footprint in Jammu and Kashmir will pave the way for opening the doors of management education to those who need it the most," the director said.

IIM-K started operations in 1997. The Executive Post Graduate Programme it offers is conducted with technology partner Hughes Education.

IIM-K has also set up a satellite campus at Infopark, Kochi, dedicated to executive education.
