St. John's (Antigua), Nov 22 (IANS/CMC) Guyana left-hander Assad Fudadin will replace Darren Bravo in the 15-man Test squad for the tour of South Africa, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced.

The 29-year-old Fudadin played three Tests in 2012 and has mainly campaigned with West Indies A since then. He made his debut against England at Birmingham and played two Tests against New Zealand in the same year, notching his maiden only Test half-century at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground, reports CMC.

Fudadin gets his chance following Bravo's decision to pull out of the squad for personal reasons. The elegant left-hander wrote to chief selector Clive Lloyd requesting that he not be considered for the Test series.

He has also not featured for Trinidad and Tobago either in the current WICB Professional Cricket League (PCL) with selection authorities claiming he had not made himself available since his return from the controversial tour of India.

The Windies will visit South Africa to play three Tests, three Twenty20 Internationals and five One-Day Internationals (ODI), starting Dec 17.

The squad: Denesh Ramdin (Captain), Sulieman Benn, Jermaine Blackwood, Kraigg Brathwaite, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Sheldon Cottrell, Assad Fudadin, Shannon Gabriel, Christopher Gayle, Jason Holder, Leon Johnson, Kemar Roach, Marlon Samuels, Jerome Taylor, Chadwick Walton.
