Galatasaray announced that it has parted ways with coach Fatih Terim, who has also been coaching the Turkish national team.
Following a board meeting Tuesday, Galatasaray president confirmed Terim's departure, reports Xinhua.
"We have to make a decision with Terim. This decision will be made within 48 hours. This issue will also be discussed during our upcoming board meeting," Galatasaray president Unal Aysal said.
As for the new coach, Aysal said that he has not met with any coaches thus far.
"I will state clearly that I have not tried to find a new coach nor did I appoint any other person to do that. However, if it becomes necessary in the future. We will undoubtedly introduce new professionals to the team."
Terim, who achieved legendary status with the club, had taken the helm of the Turkish national team for the third time last month replacing Abdullah Avci ahead of four critical World Cup qualification matches. He was set to job-share as manager of both the national team and Galatasaray.
