Police here Wednesday said they have filed a case of gang rape based on the complaint of a woman who said she was kidnapped, raped by four men and later dumped near a park.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Atul Yadav said the woman accused four men of being involved in the crime. No arrests have been made so far in the case, he added.

She named two men - Yogendra Pandit, a resident of Kalyanpuri in Delhi, and Akhil Tomar from Rajendra Nagar in Sahibabad near Ghaziabad.

Their two other accomplices were not identified.

The woman told police she was kidnapped while on her way to a market in Vasundhara area around 9 p.m. Monday.

The four men raped her and later dumped her near a park in Sector 62 area at 1.30 a.m. Tuesday, from where she reached Sector 58 police station and lodged a complaint which was then referred to Indirapuram area since the crime took place there.

"On the complaint of the woman, a case under Section 376 for rape and kidnapping has been registered," Yadav said.

Meanwhile, sources said police have not been able to ascertain the gang rape, since the investigation officer failed to understand the contents of the medical examination report.
