Georgia's Rio Olympic gold medallist Vladimer Khinchegashvili emerged as the costliest buy till the halfway mark of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) auction, joining team Punjab for a whopping Rs. 48 lakh (approximately $70791.31).
Apart from 57kg exponent Khinchegashvili, Punjab bagged another experienced campaigner in 2012 Olympic gold medallist Togrul Asgarov from Azerbaijan for Rs. 35 lakh (approximately $51,618.67)
Meanwhile, young Indian Bajrang Punia was signed by Delhi for Rs. 38 lakh (approximately $56,043.12).
Indian Rahul Aware went to team Mumbai for 31 lakh (approximately $45,715.67).
All teams have been given a purse of Rs. 2 crores (approximately $2,94,963.80) to assemble a nine-member squad that includes five men and four women, five Indians and four foreigners.
