The German Football Association (DFB) on Friday announced it will apply to host the 2024 Euro tournament.
The leadership of the DFB unanimously approved the presentation of the candidacy to Europe's governing body UEFA that will be formalised by March 3, reports Efe.
In its application, Germany will nominate 10 stadiums to host the event.
The choice of stadiums, according to a statement from the DFB, will be carried out in a "transparent and traceable manner".
DFB President Reinhard Grindel said Germany is going to submit a first-class application.
"In Germany, we have the stadiums, we have the infrastructure and we have the know-how to organise an economically sensible and ecologically friendly Euro," added Grindel.
