Ghagra, Rapti above danger mark

The Ghagra in Bihar's Siwan district and the Rapti in Uttar Pradesh's Balrampur are flowing above the danger mark, a statement said Friday.

"At 6 a.m., Ghagra at Darauli, Siwan was flowing at a level of 61.42 m with rising trend which is 0.60 m above its danger level of 60.82 m and 0.32 m below its previous high flood level of 61.74 m in August 1998," said the statement from the ministry of water resources.

The river has been in a high flood situation at Gangpur in Siwan. It was flowing at a level of 57.85 m.

It had a rising trend which is 0.81 m above its danger level of 57.04 m and 0.16 m below its previous high flood level of 58.01 m in September 1983.

 

The statement said Rapti at Balrampur has been flowing at a level of 104.83 m, with a rising trend which is 0.21 m above its danger level of 104.62 m.
