The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation at its executive meeting on Saturday enhanced the developmental budget from Rs 72 crore to Rs 117 crore.
In the executive meeting Mayor Ashu Verma said: "Developmental activities should be the focus areas of the civic body. With expanding cities, the infrastructure needs to be strengthened and thus budget allocation has to be increased. Rs 117 crore is a meagre amount."
"The sources of income would also be explored in the next meeting so that Rs 50 lakh could be allocated to each councillor in his ward," he added.
The meeting was attended by municipal officers and executive members.
