An 18-metre tall rubber duck, which has captivated people across the world, will travel to Vietnam's southern Ho Chi Minh (HCM) city Sunday, local media reported Saturday.
The rubber duck is inflated by internal fans that will be connected to power sources via cables beneath the surface of the lake and it sits on a giant custom built raft, Xinhua reported.
Designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, the rubber duck started a tour named "Spreading Joys around the World" in 2007.
Since 2007, it has been displayed at various destinations across the globe including Amsterdam, Baku, Lommel in Belgium, Osaka, Sydney Harbour, Sao Paulo, Pittsburgh, Beijing, Auckland, Hong Kong and Saint-Nazaire, France.
HCM City will be the 16th venue for the rubber duck to be displayed in.
During its five-week stop in the city, various events like photo contests, artistic performances and celebrity visits will be held.
The rubber duck will be on display at the Crescent Lake in the Phu My Hung residential area till May 31.
