A 15-year-old girl, who had gone to answer nature's call, was gang-raped in Jharkhand's Chatra district and later burnt to death, police said on Friday.
According to the police, when the teenager of Humajang village of the district had gone to answer nature's call on Thursday night, three youths of the same village caught hold of her, took her away at an isolated place and raped her.
After raping the girl, the youths allegedly poured kerosene oil over her and set her on fire. The accused have been identified as Ishrar, Saddam and Sahid Aalam, according to locals.
The severely burnt girl somehow managed to reach her home and inform about the incident. She also revealed the names of the culprits.
She was admitted to a local hospital, but later succumbed to the burn injuries.
The police have arrested two accused while one managed to escape.
