Girls face stereotyping everyday: Amrita Prakash

Amrita Prakash will be seen paving her way into the culinary world in an upcoming episode of TV show "Halla Bol 2". The actress says that with the episode, she wants to highlight gender stereotypes prevailing in the society.

Amrita will be seen as a headstrong girl, who is a chef and is fighting to break stereotypical thinking of people who believe that women cannot become chefs.

"Stereotyping is something that a girl faces everyday. In the episode, I'm not just playing a strong character but representing girls who go through this," the actress said in a statement.

Talking about one of her experiences, she said: "I was planning to go on a road trip with my friends and when I said that I will drive, some of my male friends shrugged me off and said that 'Girls can't drive.'

 

"Such incidents take place in our day to day life but we choose to ignore it most of the times and that's when we actually do wrong."

The episode will beam on Bindass channel March 1.
