GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd (GSK) on Wednesday reported a net profit of Rs.155 crore for the first quarter of fiscal 2015-16, an increase of 19.12 percent from the same quarter of fiscal 2014-15.
According to the standalone unaudited results for the quarter that ended on June 30, GSK's profits rose by Rs.24.88 crore compared to Q1 2014-15. It registered profits of Rs.130.12 crore in the year ago quarter.
GSK's total income for the April-June quarter of the current fiscal grew by 8.71 percent at Rs.1,099.92 crore, compared to Rs.1011.73 crore of Q1 2014-15, a rise of Rs.88.19 crore.
Earnings per share before extraordinary items and after extraordinary items of the pharmaceutical company remained the same, it rose from Rs.30.94 to Rs.36.85 on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
Established in India in 1924, the Bengaluru-based pharmaceutical company's product portfolio includes prescription medicines and vaccines.
