The real credit for the Right To Information (RTI) act goes to activists, campaigners, media and civil society, Goa's Chief Information Commissioner Leena Mehendale said here Friday.
At a function marked to felicitate winners of a newly instituted RTI award in the state, Mehendale said: "A lot of people are trying to take credit for the act. But the real credit goes to activists, campaigners, media and civil society."
A retired 1974 batch Indian Administrative Service officer, Leena Mehendale was appointed Goa's chief state information commissioner last year.
