Goa's industries ministry on Thursday claimed it had no information about the number of industries in the state which had benefitted directly from the NDA government's flagship manufacturing sector initiative Make in India.
To a question from Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte, who sought to know about the total number of industries which had benefited directly from the Make in India initiative, Goa Industries Minister Mahadev Naik said in a written reply that "as on date the requisite information is not available with the department".
Naik also said, that his department did not have any detail about the number of entrepreneurs in the state who had benefitted from the National Democratic Alliance's Start-up India initiatives.
The flagship programme was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon after he assumed power in 2014, as part of a wider set of nation-building initiatives to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub.
