Record-breaking former Brazil international goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni will next year extend his professional career to a 23rd season with Sao Paulo.

Rogerio, 41 next month, agreed to a 12-month contract extension Saturday, the club announced on its official website, reports Xinhua.

"What motivated me most to make this decision, apart from the fact this is my second home, was the support the club continues to show me," Rogerio said.

"It's a great feeling to know that you are wanted by those in charge."

Rogerio is recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the highest scoring keeper in history with 113 goals in 1019 first-team matches for Sao Paulo.

He is a two-time Copa Libertadores winner and was Brazil's backup goalkeeper at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
