Former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has signed with English Premier league outfit Manchester United.
Valdes inked an 18-month contract with the option for a further year. The 32-year-old will be a backup to the team's first choice goalkeeper David de Gea, reports Xinhua.
Valdes has trained with the United's first team since October after he recovered from a knee injury.
"Now, in the moment, (De Gea) is the best goalkeeper in the world," Valdes said. "His performances every day and in every game shows everybody that his level is very high. He has had a great year."
The veteran was selected in Barcelona's first team in 2002 by Louis van Gaal who recruited Valdes again as he is in charge of the United.
Valdes' career in the club is full of cups and glories, but he remained a backup to Iker Casillas Fernandez in the Spainish national team.
