Golf: PGTI Players Championship to start from Wednesday

The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Players Championship will start from Wednesday at the Tollygunge Club here.

The three-day tournament, which carries a prize purse of Rs. 30 lakh ($44,933) will be played over 54 holes (three rounds) with the cut being applied after 36 holes.

Many promising golfers like Shubhankar Sharma, Khalin Joshi, Mukesh Kumar, Udayan Mane, Shamim Khan, Harendra Gupta and Abhijit Singh Chadha and many others will take part in the event.

Commenting on the upcoming tournament, PGTI director Uttam Singh Mundy said: "The PGTI looks forward to returning to Tollygunge Club after almost six years.

 

"Golf fans in Kolkata can expect a week of intense competition as the professionals look to consolidate their position in the Rolex Ranking with the season entering its final phase."
