Traffic on the Agra-Etawah rail route in Uttar Pradesh was disrupted on Thursday after a goods train derailed near the Taj Mahal town Agra, injuring its guard.
The accident took place between Fatehabad and Bah railway stations. The track was laid only a year ago. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's village falls on this rail route.
Loco pilot Dheeraj Kumar told police that all of a sudden the train started to slip on one side as the track below shifted.
Guard Sunil, who sustained injuries, has been admitted to a hospital. Railway officials said the tracks have been badly ripped near the Arnauta bridge.
