Arunachal Pradesh Governor J.P. Rajkhowa on Friday said the state government will ensure rule of law and provide effective governance through transparency in its approach, accountability, political stability and control over corruption.

However, he asked people not to be complacent and continue to make more sincere and determined efforts to remove poverty and backwardness.

"Let us stand and work unitedly as 'Team Arunachal' to contribute all that is possible for its progress and prosperity," Rajkhowa said in his message on the eve of the 30th Statehood Day of Arunachal Pradesh.

It came sometime before rebel Congress lawmaker Kalaikho Pul was sworn in as the chief minister after President's Rule was revoked.

In his message, Rajkhowwa said that they "must continue to make more sincere and determined efforts to remove poverty and backwardness of our people and to come up on par, if not above, with the more developed states of India".

"While doing so, we must remember that peace and tranquility are the two basic and prime pre-requisites for an accelerated economic development. I see a more developed and more prosperous Arunachal Pradesh in very near future," he said.

Rajkhowa said that in the last twenty-four days after the proclamation of President's Rule, he had taken some important decisions in public interest.

"I have issued orders for timely payment of pension, salaries to the government employees, including contractual staff, and prompt reimbursement of medical and travelling allowance bills," he said.
