The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) on Wednesday launched a programme "Greening Delhi" which would include tree plantation all over Delhi under the project "Our Earth and Us".

The project, in collaboration with the Department of Forest and Wildlife as well as the Department of Education, aims at planting about 12,000 trees within three months, at different sites in Delhi by the students of various eco clubs of both private and government schools.

The programme was inaugurated by Delhi High Court Acting Chief Justice, Justice Gita Mittal, along with state Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and others at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) here. About 2,000 trees were planted in the IIT campus on Wednesday.

Justice Mittal underlined the need for preserving the environment and asked the students and others to participate in tree plantation and nurture the trees not only for themselves but also for the coming generations.

Sisodia appreciated this unique initiative of the DSLSA.
