Two persons were killed and two injured in a grenade explosion in a court building in the city of Kurgan in southern Russia, the country's interior ministry said Friday.
"The grenade detonated at one of the small claims courts," Xinhua reported citing the ministry's press service.
Police said 19-year-old Mikhail Vdovin had entered the court in South Urals' regional capital and detonated the grenade, killing himself and a court marshal.
The police believe that Vdovin had intended to blow up a judge as he was not happy with a court ruling.
According to the court's website, the court hearing in which Vdovin was accused of beating someone, was scheduled for 2 p.m. (8 a.m. GMT).
