The Haryana government on Tuesday opened a hostel for orphans and destitute children where all basic necessities, including food, clothes and education, will be provided by district administration free of cost, an official said.

Gurgaon's Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) V.P. Singh inaugurated the 50-bed hostel in Nathupur village here on Mehrauli border.

Singh said several government offices and NGOs have been asked to identify such children so that the needy could be facilitated.

The hostel has four halls, a mess and two separate toilets for girls and boys.

The children who will take shelter in the hostel will be admitted in Nathupur's government primary school.

The education department officials have been asked to take care of all kind of requirements like books and uniforms.

Medical care will also be available for children. Singh said that local administration will provide benefits of all government schemes to children and will assure that rules may not become hurdles in the way of destitute and homeless children.
