A 25-year-old woman has claimed she was kidnapped from here and gang-raped in a Rajasthan town, police said Sunday.

The woman said she was kidnapped by two men in an auto-rickshaw Sep 18.

"I visited the Gurgaon municipal office Sep 18 for the birth certificate of my child and was abducted by two men from the Civil Lines area after they gave me lift in the auto-rickshaw," the woman said in a police complaint.

The woman said she was gang-raped but that she did not know where she was kept.

She said she managed to reach a police station in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan and narrated the story to police officials there.

Police registered a zero FIR in Bharatpur and transferred the case to Gurgaon police Sunday.

A zero first information report (FIR) can be filed in any police station, irrespective of the place of incident.

A case of kidnapping and gang rape has been registered against unknown people at the Civil Lines police station, but police said they were unsure about the allegations.

"The story of kidnapping from the busy and crowded Civil Lines area raises some questions about the woman's story but we are investigating the case," a police official told IANS.
