A 19-year-old youth has been arrested in Gurgaon for shooting his 35-year-old uncle dead to avenge the killing of his mother over a decade ago, police said on Monday.
Police arrested Lalit alias Jony for gunning down his uncle Sandeep Kataria, who owned and ran the Shri Radha Krishna Cow Care Centre in Sector 9.
Police also arrested 22-year-old Bittu alias Monu, a resident of Nilothi village near Haryana's Bahadurgarh, for providing shelter to Jony.
Jony told police that Kataria and some other family members had shot his mother dead over a decade ago following a property dispute, when he (Jony) was eight years old.
Police said Jony had targeted his uncle twice during 2013-14, but Kataria did not realise that his nephew was behind the attacks.
Kataria was fatally shot thrice from close quarters on the night of October 14 at the cow shelter by Jony and his four friends.

While two accomplices waited at the gate of the shelter, Jony accompanied by the two others opened fire at his uncle.
All the other accused, aged around 20 years, are absconding.
"Jony, his two brothers and a sister were cared for by Sandeep Kataria. But the accused believed that he was paying them less for the common land of the family on which the cow shelter was set up," said a villager.
