Hackers claim to have overtaken TRAI website

'Host is down' all over my terminal, a hacker group, Anonymous India, posted on its Twitter handle

IANS New Delhi

On a day when the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) was to release one million email addresses from which they received responses on the net neutrality debate, Anonymous India (AnonOpsIndia) claimed to have hacked the website on Monday, which was denied by the regulator.

The site was also up sometime later.

While the landing page earlier said the website was down, the hacker group on Monday posted on its Twitter handle: "'Host is down' all over my terminal. Thank you! Boom Boom."

The hackers further tweeted: "So those who still think that #TRAI can 'handle' the Internet, we just proved you wrong. They just got trolled by bunch of kids.#Incompetence."

However, denying any hacking of the website, officials said the site was down "due to some technical glitches".
